Created in Benin some time during the late 19th Century, and acquired at the Albert F. Gordon Tribal Arts Gallery in New York in the early 1970s, this is a bronze cast bust embellished with a coiled and woven rope base, typical of the Beninese and Nigerian tribes that inhabited the Niger River delta.
It measures 11″ in diameter, and stands 14″ in height.
