1960s Square Cake Plates in Green Melodi Pattern by Royal Copenhagen, 2 Pieces

Offered is a set of two vintage square platters of the “Green Melodi” pattern created for Royal Copenhagen. Originally designed by Thorkild Olsen, this pattern is also referred to as “Gron Melodi” in Danish.

While this specific piece is known as a square cake platter, the plates are just as practical as decorative trinket dishes, or for serving canapés, or as a vide poche on a console, a dresser, or even as tray in the bathroom for toiletries, perfumes and creams.

They are a soft cream-colored base with what appears to be rhododendron leaves and decorative sprigs in the center and have ribbed edges for easy handling, and gray and green thin stripes at the top rims.

They measure 9.25″ wide, 9.25″ long, 1.25″ high.
