Vintage nest of tables in polished graphite toned chrome & gold plated gilt metal frame with smoked glass by Kesterport for Harrods, 1980`s ca, English.
These vintage tables have been gently cleaned while respecting the aged patina. They are ready to use.
The simplicity of this design is enhanced by the highly polished graphite coloured chrome frame in a warm “greige” tone with gold plated gilt corner details. The smoked glass tops tinted bronze, original to the piece, capture the vintage look.
This set of tables was purchased from the first owner who originally bought them from Harrods in London UK in the 1980`s.
This elegant set would be a practical & stylish addition to a range of interiors including Art Deco, Traditional, 1950`s Atomica, Hollywood Regency, 70`s Glamour, Industrial and Contemporary.
The frames are very stable and consist of graphite toned chromed steel with rectangular profiles, this makes them look light & elegant. At each corner there is a stylish curved detail in gold plated gilt. It is particularly nice how the curve joins the frame in an organic continuous way. Kesterport is well known for using 24 Karat gold in quality details such at these. The result makes for interesting perspectives & reflections.
The 3 vintage quality glass tops are original to the set and they are tempered, each is etched with the Kerterport logo. The glass rests flush inside the frame. The removable tops sit securely on a triangular gilt metal plate & clear rubber stopper at each corner.
Collectively, the frame along with the smoked glass, give the impression of `highly polished` & `sleek`. When stacked together these tables make an interesting geometric pattern. The contrast between the gold and bronze tones make these tables very chic.
The legs terminate at the bottom with the original black rubber stoppers to protect the floor.
These vintage nesting tables is in very good condition for its age. The frames are sound and sturdy with no damages. The polished metal surfaces retain the original clear lacquered finish with very few superficial marks. The gilt metal surfaces are in good condition with minor rubbing & tiny marks in places as shown in close ups. Looking at the bottom all original plastic stoppers are present and in good condition The glass tops are in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks and only minor light superficial scratches, all in line with age & use.
