Vintage Design
Amazing Art Nouveau earthenware / terracotta table lamp with flower / poppy decorations made in Denmark at “L. Hjorth Terracottafabrik”. The lamp is in original vintage condition with socket and shade holder in brass, iron and porcelain. In the 1850s at the island of Bornholm in Denmark the small terracotta factory “L. Hjort” specialized in producing earthenware in the unique “black terracotta” style achieved by firing coal and tar in the ovens simultaneously with the items.
