Early 20th Century Bhutanese wrapping cloth / bhundi
A beautifully preserved example of a rare Bhutanese wrapping cloth (bhundi), which would have been used for outings into the countryside or other practical purposes. The central swastika motif is an ancient symbol denoting timelessness or impermanence, and was commonly depicted on utilitarian objects used in Buddhists cultures throughout Asia, particularly among the Himalayan cultures of Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan.
