Sofa, rosewood, Brazilian design, European execution, 1960s. The sofa set is still in the original upholstery fabric. Altogether a very good condition.
This settee is executed in Brazilian rosewood and fabric and holds several well-constructed details such as the slatted back and the use of slender and delicate slats of rosewood that are wide but thin and therefore give the sofa an open and strong feeling. It is remnant of the sturdy, robust Brazilian furniture but with a European Minimalist twist. The navy colored velvet upholstery matches very well with the dark grains and flames of the rosewood. It is likely that this sofa is designed by a Brazilian designer and manufactured in Europe.
