A wonderfully rustic Brazilian two-drawer console table from the late 17th-early 18th century. This antique table from Brazil is constructed of peroba wood, which is a tropical native hardwood, 35% harder than oak. The table has a rectangular-shaped plank board top, a thick apron which houses two half-sized and decoratively paneled drawers at one long side, and is raised upon a sawhorse leg style base, with stretchers bracing the legs. The rich peroba wood has a beautifully rustic and dark patina, with wear and imperfections from age, adding character and a bucolic charm to this piece. This late 17th century Brazilian peroba wood table, is a great versatile piece, offering endless possibilities for it’s use.
