Leather Percival Lafer ‘MP-97’ Rosewood Three-Seat Sofa, Brazil, c. 1970, Signed

Featuring a refinished Rosewood frame that supports the original leather cushion in a beautiful yellow color. Signed underneath the cushion with Lafer S.A. label (partial) and Brazil Industries Corp (Lafer’s import company) labels (see photos). The particular label style indicates it is an earlier (original) era production example. Later examples used different label style (sticker labels) and hangtags. Given this example is with its original leather, and in beautiful condition with original early era labels, this is an ideal candidate for a connoisseur collector of modern art and design or an interior designer working with a client that demands only the best.

This slouchy, casual MP-97 three seater couch by Percival Lafer would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Space Age Mod, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Post-Modern, Contemporary or Zen / Minimalism room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Hollywood Regency, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. CONDITION:
Rosewood frame was refinished and is in excellent condition. Original yellow leather cushion is in very good condition with only light attractive patina. The patina can be covered with matched color leather dye if desired, we left it original since most collectors prefer to have some attractive patina to the leather, let us know if you would like the light patina to be touched up prior to shipping. The leather straps are in very good condition with medium patina. Very attractive example, prime for collectors and connoisseurs of modern art and design.
