It is not quite an exact match to the chairs, but it is the same exact model and the only variance is the couch has slightly lighter color with a bit more warm cognac tone to the leather. This incredible signed collectors set with original leather cushions are also ideal for interior designers working on high end projects as it was fully restored – Rosewood frames were refinished and joinery tightened, the original cognac leather cushions cleaned, conditioned and spot-dyed with color matched leather dye in a few areas that benefited from it.

The S-1 design features Brazilian exoticness paired with Scandinavian sensibility. Of Lafer’s designs, the S-1 is a bit more rare to find than some of his more common ones such as the MP-97, MP-41 and MP-25. The frames are more architectural in feel than most of his other designs, perhaps a refinement developed throughout his years of experience in this 1976 design.

This slouchy, casual S-1 set of easy armchairs by Percival Lafer would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Space Age Mod, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Post-Modern, Contemporary or Zen / Minimalism room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Hollywood Regency, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office.

CONDITION:
Excellent vintage condition. Rosewood frames were refinished and all joinery tightened / serviced. Leather was cleaned, conditioned and restored with color matched leather dye in a few areas that could use it. Areas of age still slightly visible under refinish. Leather with attractive light patina. Very attractive set ready for immediate use in a high-end location.
